On Nohô, there’s a place for every passion. Whether you’re a curious beginner or an experienced runner, everyone can come discover a new world, meet an enthusiast, and enjoy an authentic experience.
Today, we’re meeting Jonathan, a running enthusiast for over 15 years. Between road, trail, and long-distance running, he shares a simple and accessible vision of running: moving at your own pace, and above all, having fun.
My name is Jonathan, and I’ll be 37 soon. I’m a landscape architect, and I’m also the dad of 21-month-old twins, so needless to say, my days are pretty busy!
I’m a running enthusiast . I’ve been running for quite a few years now, over various distances: from 10K to marathons, and even ultras up to 110K. I’ve also done quite a bit of trail running. These days, I train two to three times a week. It’s not necessarily about performance, but rather consistency and enjoyment.
It’s been almost 15 years. I used to play soccer. Then, over time, I switched to running. It happened gradually, but it’s become a real habit—almost a necessity.
When we talk about running, we often picture asphalt, Sunday morning 10Ks, or city marathons. Yet there’s another approach: trail running.
Road running is often more linear, more rhythmic. You aim to manage your pace, optimize your time, and maintain consistency. It’s a very accessible discipline, ideal for beginners.
Trail running, on the other hand, takes place in the great outdoors. The terrain is varied, sometimes technical, with elevation changes, climbs, and descents. The goal is no longer just performance, but also adaptation, pacing… and the joy of being outside.
Jonathan has explored both, with a preference for this diversity that keeps things from ever getting boring.
With distances that can exceed 80 or 100 kilometers, ultra-trail pushes the limits even further.
But contrary to what one might think, it’s not just a matter of physical fitness. It’s also a mental challenge, involving the management of time, nutrition, and fatigue.
It’s a unique experience where you learn a lot about yourself.
The idea is to organize running outings, especially for beginners or people who want to get started. Sharing simple moments, running together, offering some advice… but without any pressure. It’s really through interaction and sharing that it all comes together.
Not really. I tend to go with the flow, depending on how much time I have. With the kids and work, I mostly just try to keep up a regular routine.
I run because I enjoy it, without necessarily aiming for a specific goal.
At Nohô, it’s not about being the best, but about sharing what inspires us. Running is a perfect example: accessible, free, and adaptable to everyone. With Jonathan, there’s no pressure or set time limits. Just the desire to share, to support, and to show that running can be simple… and deeply enjoyable.
Because at the end of the day, whether on the road or out in nature, running remains a personal adventure that you can also choose to experience with others.
