My name is Elyane, I’m 38 years old and I’m now an independent travel planner (check out her website here).
A travel planner is a professional who helps individuals and businesses plan their travel itineraries. You could think of it as a kind of travel coach, a bit like a wedding planner but for travel.
My role is limited to providing advice: I don’t make reservations directly, unlike travel agencies or online platforms. I provide a document with all the booking links so that the client can confirm their choices.
I have also set up partnerships with approved travel agencies, which can manage reservations and after-sales service. This offers more flexibility depending on the client’s needs.
My passion for travel has always been there. As a child, as soon as I learned to read, I immersed myself in the great stories of explorers. I have always been fascinated by history and geography.
When I was a child, I already saw myself as an archaeologist. Life took a different path, but that passion remained intact. Later, for my higher education, I turned to history and geography at university, and I wanted to put that into practice in a more organized setting. That’s how I combined my passion for history and geography with tourism.
I try to travel as much as possible, within reason, like everyone else. I’ve been self-employed for a year and a half now. Time and money constraints limit my travel a little.
Today, I can organize my trips in France and abroad and enjoy each experience to the fullest.
I would say that I fall in love with every trip I take. Each destination brings me something unique. For example, two years ago, I spent a few weeks in Galicia, Spain.
It’s a region that few people know about, sometimes compared to “the Brittany of Spain.” This trip was planned for the wedding of a friend of Galician origin, and she took the opportunity to introduce us to a part of Galician culture during our stay. There was a village festival in Quintans, not far from Muxia, her family village. There was a procession, music, dancing, and even bagpipes… I was completely transported.
For me, every trip, whether short or long, has something unique to offer, and that’s exactly what I love to share in my passion for travel.
On Nohô, I offer a gathering around travel. The goal is to discuss how each person views travel. Everyone has their own vision and seeks different things: some seek adventure, others rest or cultural discovery.
We discuss the impact of travel on ourselves, on the people who accompany us, and on the encounters we may have while traveling. It’s really a time to share my passion for travel and to listen to others’ passions.
I am based in Paris, so there are two possible formats. The first option, which is more traditional, is over coffee, on a terrace or in a brasserie. The second option, which is more original, is to take a stroll around Paris, for example in a park, a garden, or along a wide avenue. This allows for a more relaxed and friendly atmosphere, while remaining in keeping with the spirit of Nohô.
My goal is simple: to share my passion for travel, pass on my experiences, and discover those of others. Whether it’s to discuss destinations, anecdotes, or practical advice, these travel-themed meetings help create a real bond between enthusiasts.
