To meet Firmin is to meet a true motorcycle enthusiast, driven since childhood by speed, competition, and sharing. In this interview, he looks back on his exceptional journey, his deep motivations, and above all, his intense desire to share his passion, which he is now putting into action with Nohô. With his determination, victories, and desire to help new talent, Firmin embodies the spirit of motorcycle racing in its purest form.
My name is Firmin, I am 40 years old and I have been competing in motorcycle racing since I was 13. My career has been quite varied: I raced intensively until I was 20, won a French championship title, took a break, then resumed serious competition after I turned 30.
Since then, I have been French 400 champion in 2023, Normandy champion in 2022, and I have just finished second in the World Endurance Championship in the Production category.
Honestly, there’s no real explanation. My parents weren’t into that world at all, but ever since I was little, I’ve been obsessed with riding motorcycles.
Whenever I had the chance, I would hop on a motorcycle, pester my uncles to take me for a ride, follow them to motocross events… That’s really how it all started.
Since I wouldn’t give up, one day, a distant cousin gave me my first competition moped when I was 13. And that’s when it all really took off.
My goal is very clear: I just finished second in the World Endurance Championship in the Production category, and second place is the first loser.
So I want to go back and win the world title in the same category.
At the same time, I want to continue practicing with passion, maintain the determination I’ve always had, and pass on what I’ve learned. As long as I have the will to win, I want to keep going.
Without hesitation, one of the pivotal races of 2023, during the 400 championship at Carole.
It was raining, and I’m very strong in the rain. During the first race, I fell while I was in the lead. For the second race, the team told me to play it safe… but I replied:
“No, I want to win.”
It was still raining, but I won that race.
That moment had a profound impact on me: it proved to me that anything is possible with commitment and a strong mindset. That victory was a cornerstone for the rest of the season.
On Nohô, there are two essential aspects for me:
Sharing my experience:
My parents weren’t into motorcycles, so I had to figure things out on my own, which took a lot of energy and sometimes led to mistakes that could have been avoided.
I want to help enthusiasts save time, better understand this world, and avoid the wrong paths. I am a motorcycle enthusiast at heart, and I want to support young people, the curious, and future riders.
Really introducing people to the world of motorcycling:
I would also like to offer a two-part experience: a technical and personal discussion about competition, followed by an immersion with me during a training session or a trip, depending on the possibilities.
When I discovered Nohô, it immediately spoke to me. I felt that there was something beautiful to be created around sharing passion and passing on knowledge.
Firmin perfectly embodies the spirit of a motorcycle enthusiast who has never lost his passion. His career, rich in victories and learning experiences, is now taking on a new dimension thanks to the sharing of his passion that he wishes to convey on Nohô. With energy, humility, and determination, he is paving the way for a new generation of riders and enthusiasts ready to discover motorcycle racing from the inside.
